WELCOME TO WESTVIEW

On behalf of Westview Elementary School I would like to welcome you to this site. Westview has been around since about 1957. We are approaching our 50 year anniversary. While I have not been here for the whole time, I can say with confidence that the school’s mission and focus has not changed.

Westview was built to satisfy the need to house a growing student population in Avon Lake those many years ago. The first teaching staff and principal set to work on providing the best possible educational experience they could for the students who walked through the door. Many excellent and caring teachers have come and gone since the beginning, but the focus is still on providing the best possible educational experience for the children who walk through our door.

We are proud to say that we believe in a strong team approach to educating our children. Families, students, and teachers make up this important team. Each one has an important part to play in the process of learning. Parents must offer active support and encouragement through assistance and expectations. The student must work hard to learn their lessons and improve their abilities. The teachers must provide the best instruction possible coupled with love and caring here at school. Thus far Westview’s team has done very well and enjoyed a rich history of success with children. Let us never break that chain of accomplishment.
